The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), in collaboration with the International Hospitality Council (IHC), has launched the Global Knowledge Sharing Declaration on AI in Hospitality, uniting fifty countries in a groundbreaking initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into hospitality education and industry practices.
Led by Dr. Suborno Bose, Founder of IIHM and CEO of IHC UK, this declaration establishes a global collaboration framework among fifty hospitality institutions, fostering the exchange of AI-driven insights, best practices, and innovations. As part of this effort, hospitality colleges across these nations will be encouraged to adopt and expand AI-powered teaching methodologies and operational strategies. IIHM will provide strategic leadership to ensure seamless and effective implementation.
The Knowledge Sharing Declaration marks a significant step in IIHM’s commitment to future-proofing the hospitality industry. By positioning AI as an essential tool, this initiative aims to boost operational efficiency while enhancing guest experiences with a personalized, human-centric approach. The declaration also outlines key collaborative efforts, including AI integration into hospitality curricula, partnerships with governments and NGOs to bridge the digital divide, and the development of AI-driven solutions that promote sustainable tourism.
Adding to this vision, Dr. Suborno Bose has launched a book titled ‘Harmonizing Human Touch and AI in Tourism & Hospitality’, which delves into the evolving role of AI in the industry. Through real-world case studies, the book highlights AI’s impact on guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational excellence, covering innovations such as predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis, and zero-waste initiatives.
The launch of the book underscores the rising significance of AI in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Institutions are encouraged to incorporate its insights into their knowledge-sharing frameworks, amplifying its reach and impact. This initiative urges industry leaders, academic institutions, and governments to champion AI-driven innovation, while upholding hospitality’s fundamental values of empathy and inclusivity.
